Tarea
1-2 horas por semana. Students are encouraged to practice most days to ensure steady progress. Assignments will be given when appropriate, and may include music theory worksheets or researching composers and general music topics.Experiencia de clase
Want to start playing violin? Want to learn your favorite songs to play for friends and family? Been playing for a few years? These ongoing 1:1 weekly classes are geared towards students who are just beginning their musical journey or are looking to further their learning on the violin. Lessons are tailored to the student's individual needs and will aim to build a solid technical foundation on the instrument as well as a greater understanding of musical elements. Students will be assigned a routine of fundamental studies (scales, exercises, etudes) as well as standard classical repertoire, or other genres of their choosing. Younger students will play games and participate in fun music-related activities. The Suzuki method is the usual starting point in the repertoire progression, however other pieces may be assigned as needed. Students are always welcomed and encouraged to learn other genres of music or songs that interest them. These ongoing lessons aim to provide a solid basis for musical training and cultivate a love for music. Curiosity is always encouraged!

Students without prior musical experience will learn the basics of playing the violin. They will learn to hold the violin, the bow, and proper care for their instrument. They will learn or build upon their knowledge of rhythm and note reading.

All learners should have a stable internet connection and use a computer or laptop (preferred) or tablet to connect to classes. Phones do not work well with Zoom and I will not be able to hear the instrument well enough for a successful lesson.
Enabling Original Sound for Musicians:
For computer: Please install the Zoom app on your computer.
1.) Prior to the start of the first lesson, go into to Zoom settings
2.) Click the audio tab
3.) Under the Audio Profile section, select Original sound for musicians (you will only need to do this once!)
4.) Once this has been enabled in Settings, the Original Sound for Musicians button can be toggled on and off (the button will be located on the upper left corner of the screen), please do this at the start of every lesson.
For tablet: Please install the Zoom app on your computer.
1.) Prior to the start of the first lesson, select the More button underneath three dots
2.) Under Settings, select Meetings
3.) Under Audio, toggle Use Original Audio on (you will only need to do this once!)
4.) At the start of the meeting, select the More button underneath the three dots (this will be under the in-meeting toolbar at the top of the page).
5.) Click Enable Original Sound, please do this at the start of every lesson.

Lesson books will be recommended after the first lesson. Typically, a Suzuki Violin Method book will be assigned and can readily and affordably be purchased online or at a music store. Students with more experience will also be assigned a scale and etude book.
