This course is a private session for students ages 6-8.   During these session I will teach/review long and short vowel rules, blends and digraphs.  We will then read passages that practice these rules.  The passages will be from Raz-Kids.  We will read aloud to improve fluency.  It is a big step for students to move from learning phonics and sight words to actually fluently reading stories.  The more practice reading aloud the more the student's fluency improves.  Depending on the age of the student some of the reading list will include:
Look at This Book! - Grade 1, level G
Wiggly Worms - Grade 1, Level G
The Other Book of World Records - Grade 1, level J
Gotta Get Away From Gravity - Grade 2, level P
Noni and The Book Ban - Grade 3, level S
The Arctic Seed Vault - Grade 3, level T

After these 4 sessions I will offer this course throughout the year.  Students can enroll in this course as many times as desired.  These courses are a great way to ensure their reading fluency and enjoyment grows.

I have taught all of my adult life.   I have taught in many mediums - traditional classrooms, virtual classrooms, and a tutoring business which I established and ran for 25 years.  I love teaching and cherish the times I witness their learning.  I find that the times I spend with children are some of my most precious times.
I love teaching children everything.  I want to teach basic math and reading and help students that may need more instruction and/or practice.  However, I am looking forward to also teaching some other courses - some math tricks, identifying emotions, and how to best act from them.    I have 3 daughters and 5 grandkids that I love unconditionally.  I live in Florida and enjoy having the Atlantic so close.  
My teaching is based on small steps and positive experiences.  Those 2 items promote high self-confidence and academic success.
I am honored to work with your children and be a part of helping them reach their academic potential.
