Tarea
It's ideal for the learner to practice a few minutes each day, starting with five minutes then gradually working up to around the length of playing time in the lesson. For a 45 minute lesson this would be 30-45 minutes. Daily practice isn't required but highly recommended!
Evaluación
After each lesson notes are sent with a quick assessment and homework to prepare for the next class.

Please contact me if you don’t see a time that fits your schedule so that we can coordinate a time that will work. English and Spanish lessons are available!

Why are my lessons "premium"? ALL music, including holiday and seasonal supplemental materials are included in your lesson fee-the only book you need to purchase for your learner is a Suzuki book!

Dr. Suzuki, founder of the Suzuki Method, believed Every Child Can Learn!

More than fifty years ago, Japanese violinist Shinichi Suzuki realized the implications of the fact that children the world over learn to speak their native language with ease. He began to apply the basic principles of language acquisition to the learning of music, and called his method the mother-tongue approach. The ideas of parent responsibility, loving encouragement, constant repetition, etc., are some of the special features of the Suzuki approach.

Children learn words after hearing them spoken hundreds of times by others. Listening to music every day is important, especially listening to pieces in the Suzuki repertoire so the child knows them well!

Repetition
Constant repetition is essential in learning to play an instrument. Children do not learn a word or piece of music and then discard it. They add it to their vocabulary or repertoire, gradually using it in new and more sophisticated ways.

Encouragement
As with language, the child’s effort to learn an instrument should be met with sincere praise and encouragement. Each child learns at his/her own rate, building on small steps so that each one can be mastered. Children are also encouraged to support each other’s efforts, fostering an attitude of generosity and cooperation.

Learning with Other Children
In addition to private lessons students in these private lessons can participate in additional optional group lessons where we have fun while reviewing Suzuki pieces, learning new music terms and discovering new friends who also love piano!

Each lesson begins with "I am ready to learn" and we end each lesson with "thank you for teaching me." We learn new pieces is smaller chunks so that students can learn correctly and well. We review pieces learned in the past in fun and engaging ways. We may play a game or do a worksheet together that will help prepare you for the next piece in your Suzuki Book.
I may send other supplemental studio licensed material but learners MUST purchase their own Suzuki Book as providing an electronic copy of this book would be illegal. I may also recommend other supplemental material and would work with the parent to find an affordable solution and provide direct links to those products. I also love to make YouTube videos for my students.

For these individual private lessons, I work with each learner wherever they are at in the book. I love teaching piano, and have been giving private and group instruction for over 20 years. I may suggest supplemental material after the first lesson or two, and post those in the classroom.

Hi! I'm "ViolinJudy," Mrs. Judy Naillon, and I LOVE TEACHING MUSIC! I'm a Professional Violinist and have played with many ensembles, including the Wichita Symphony for over 20 years. I'm a Piano and Violin Teacher with 25 + years experience teaching both in person and virtually! In my free time I write Violin music books, and biographies of composers for kids in my "Very Interesting Life of" series which are available on Amazon.

I have a private teaching studio with MANY Violin, Piano, and Ukulele students so I have limited availability, if you message me I go through my waiting list each week trying to connect learners with any spots that have opened up! I am a master teacher, and have had the amazing opportunity to also work for Alfred's Music Publishers, one of the largest music publishers in the world.

I enjoy teaching beginners through advanced music students with my professional studio setup, and am experienced in teaching ages 3 through adult students. I use a combination of tried and true teaching methods like Suzuki, along with note reading skill building to help my students learn to play music they love. I always have a quick music theory game to engage my music students. My virtual students also benefit from the many educational videos I post for them to my YouTube channel.

I love keeping up with current events and usually read 2-3 newspapers every day from around the world. I enjoy sharing some of these stories in my "breakfast club" weekday morning meet-up and genuinely love getting to know my students. My guilty pleasures are watching til-tok videos and enjoying good chocolate. I love to play the Spelling Bee game from The New York Times Crossword App and try to get to genius every day! I also used to work for our local NPR station and love public radio!

I am blessed to have a wonderful husband, a cute, well behaved mini golden doodle puppy and an amazing daughter who plays many musical instruments and has learned French from Outschool!
