1 hora por semana. ** EPIC Reading Subscription included with class I always try to provide enough OPTIONAL supplemental material for the families who want to stretch my class to all five days. All material is optional as well. Each week I provide over a dozen worksheets for your learner. You can do them after class or the next day, or one a day for the entire week. You can also use the tracing one in class when while we practice our writing. Each week I also post a link that takes you to the virtual calendar that we use in class. This allows your child to practice the days of the week everyday at anytime. You will also receive virtual classrooms for the letters and number of the week. All the material is provided to reinforce what we learned in class. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or questions. -Mrs. Taylor

👋 Welcome to Preschool Letter Master Class! This class was designed to help your student learn their letters/sounds in less than 2 months. Each year my passion for early childhood education grows. My goal is that each learner will gain confidence in the classroom with their letter knowledge abilities. In this class we will have circle time warm up, letter bootcamp, sight word training, a cognitive development game to encourage speaking and creativity, a story time and optional sharing time after class. Full description below!

Class Syllabus Schedule: The class is listed as a 4 class a week course. However, holidays/personal events may change the class on rare occasions. Below I have the current schedule for our upcoming class. Please note there are 2 US Federal holidays and one personal day. I have created this course to allow those changes and still cover all letters of the alphabet. The one review day is a pre-recorded classes that will be sent out due to that week having a holiday and class #3 that week is extra long. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know. -Mrs. Taylor

Class Description:

💃 Circle Time: The first 7 minutes of class will be warm up/circle time: Class will begin with greetings and a 1 min warm up song/dance to get our sillies out. From there we will hop into calendar time to sing and chant the season, month, day of the week and what day comes before and after (“yesterday, today and tomorrow”).

🎓Letter Bootcamp: The next 10-13 mins will focus on our letter of the day. Each day we will focus on a new letter. We will say the letters name, sound, sound examples, 1 min letter song, a phonics game, upper vs lower case and writing the letter. Students will receive worksheets and digital activities to reinforce each of these goals worked on in class.

👩‍🏫Sight Word Training: The next few minutes will focus on the sight word of the day. Most sight words can not be sounded out/blended based off the individual letter sound, so I like students to see it, say it, hear it and move with each letter to really reinforce the correct spelling and pronunciation of the word. We do this through various fun/short techniques. We will then listen to a one minute sight word song and read a sentence with the sight word in it. Students will receive worksheets and digital activities to reinforce what we learn in class.

We will then spend our remaining time focusing on other fundamental principals.

💡Cognitive Development: The remaining 5-7 mins will focus on a fun cognitive development game. Typically a mystery photo where children will practice taking turns telling me what it is. I think it is important for students to practice raising their hands and taking turns, using their words and vocabulary, which is practiced in the mystery photo game.

📕We will then end class with a story. Students are also invited and encouraged to read on Epic for FREE with my class code which is provided to all enrolled students.

If you feel this course is too fast paced I do have a full year version, with one letter/sight word/number a week. Please contact me for the class listing.

I have created this class to be extremely engaging in hopes to get the most output from each student. At such a young age I understand how hard it can be for little ones to sit still. Through asking questions, playing games, and google slides I make sure each student has an opportunity to answer and participate. I add 1 minute engaging, informational songs that mirror the lesson plan to pull students back in and have a chance to learn while singing and listening to a fun beat.

After class is over students can say goodbye OR stay for a few minutes to share, whether it's a toy, information, or something they are going to do that day. I do this to allow students an opportunity to engage with their peers, and feel special without taking away from class time.

After class students can visit the classroom where new material is posted each day. I provide worksheets, digital assignments, virtual classrooms filled with material, games and videos, and more (all optional).

👪 Some students may need to have their parents nearby for the first few classes to guide them. It typically takes students a few classes to catch on to the routine and feel comfortable in the class.

➡️ Goals: By the end of this course students will have strengthened their understanding of the alphabet. They will have gained foundational skills to set them up for academic success. The essential skills gained in class are: alphabet (letter/sound), phonetic awareness, sight words, writing, social/emotional intelligence and so much more!

➡️ Students will accurately identify uppercase letters in isolation.
➡️ Students will accurately identify lowercase letters in isolation.
➡️ Students will demonstrate letter-sound correspondence for the letters and digraphs taught in class.
➡️ Print letters and numbers that are recognizable by an adult.
➡️ Student will recognize common words by sight to help with reading fluency
➡️ Speak in full sentences.
➡️ Share, take turns, practice patience
➡️ Express feelings
➡️ Develop a sense of self (in relation to the class, school and community).
➡️ Become a member of a group.

Evaluations: Throughout the class I ask many questions and we play games. This allows me to evaluate all students and for any parents listening in to hear how their child is responding/doing. If you would like a formal evaluation please reach out!

If you have any questions or suggestions please reach out! I am eager to see you in class!

Lista de útiles escolares
Materials are optional for this class. We briefly will practice our writing so students can use pencils, crayons, notebook, construction paper, a small white board (can be found at dollar tree), dry erase marker and eraser (dry eraser, tool, sock, etc.). Really anything to write with. When students are in the car they may use their finger to draw in the air. I prefer to keep writing practice to a minimum in class so students do not get bored. I prefer to spend our time learning through various engaging activities. Each week I post several PDF documents that can be printed out for students to work on to reinforce what is learned in class. If you do not want to print them out, I also post several digital activities as well.
