In our ongoing summer camp class, each day we will begin with calendar time. Singing our days of the weeks, months of the year, and counting to add dates on to our calendar for the month. Skills in our calendar time will be guided by the Saxon Math curriculum for Kindergarten. We will build our skills to prepare us for Kindergarten. Our calendar skills will include: counting, shapes, colors, patterns, numbers recognition, number order, months of the year, days of the week, seasons, and weather. Our Kindergarten preparation camp skills will come after our calendar time. We will work on mini lessons to support our Kindergarten readiness and work on one task at a time. Skills will include: Letter recognition, letter sounds, print concepts (top to bottom/ left to right, letters of the alphabet), phonological awareness (rhyming, beginning/medial/ final sounds) , and phonics (letter sounds). Learning our numbers from 0- 20. Place value within numbers. Counting on to build a number using ten frames. Each class will follow a general pattern for welcome, calendar time, and literacy preparation skill mini lessons, and goodbye. We will be able to work on skills throughout the week, but each class will have a stand alone focus. I love to utilize open conversation and responses during class and students are welcome to stay off of mute (as long as there isn't an excess amount of noise disturbance). I strive to use mute only to help with background noise. Classroom management techniques are used to keep class engaging, respectful, and a kind -uplifting place. Students are able to come and go within the camp as long as there is an opening for enrollment. Resources for the week will be sent out in advanced. I use many interactive, engagement techniques to reach each learner during class and lessons. I want each learner to be engaged and grow as a reader and learner in our class time together! Students are able to come and go within the camp class as long as there is an opening for enrollment. You can come for one week, one class, or all weeks! I can't wait to learn and grow in class with you!! 🍎Refund Policy: I am happy to give a $8 partial credit back for enrolling after a class meeting in the week for each day your learner did not attend class. A $3 credit will be kept for the teacher for classroom materials and the recordings. You will receive all classroom materials for the week and recordings once we meet. If you have any questions about this, please send me a personal message through Outschool. Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Florida Certificado de Docencia en Educación elemental
I’m a compassionate and charismatic teacher who loves to teach! I have taught Kindergarten through 5th grade students for the last 13 years. In that time, I have been a general education teacher in the public schools setting for 8 years and specialized as a reading coach to my school for an additional two years. I have been teaching online since February 2020. I’m certified to teach Elementary education from Kindergarten to 6th grade. I absolutely love teaching Kindergarten and First Grade. I taught Kindergarten for a year and supported their instruction practices for two years as a reading coach. The first year in elementary school is a daunting task for our sweet 5 and 6 year old children. I want to ensure that our classroom is an encouraging, supportive, and safe place to learn and grow as a student. I have taught these lessons in the public school setting with many students who have mastered the content. I’m looking forward to sharing this fun class with your wonderful student and help them prepare for Kindergarten in our class!
