Hello! I'm Krystle Casarez. It is my goal to make every lesson fun, interactive and memorable! I believe that passing on a "love of learning" is my #1 role as an educator.

I have a Master's degree in Education Leadership. I am certified in Early Childhood-4th Grade (all subject areas), Art (EC-12) and ESL (EC-12). I have successfully spent time homeschooling my firstborn (now in college) and now my second-born is attending 5th Grade virtually, so I know the benefits that come with an in-home & virtual education.

I have been an educator for over 10 years. I have taught early childhood (PK3/4), elementary (Kinder, 2nd, 4th Grade), and middle school (7th Grade) students in reading, math, language arts, science, social studies, social/emotional skills and ART. Currently, I am a full-time Early Childhood teacher (Pre-K3) and Passionate Outschool Teacher. 

In my free time, I love reading, yoga, creating websites and learning new things. I hope to see your child in my classroom!

CLASS EXPECTATIONS/MUTING:
I encourage participation from all of my learners. As the teacher, there are instances where I will need to utilize the mute function. If there is background noise that may be distracting to other learners enrolled in the class, I will ask students to mute themselves to limit the background noise. Parents, please feel free to unmute your learners at your discretion. Sometimes learners really want to share something, and that is okay! Just unmute & mute again.

At the beginning of each class, I always go over my class norms & expectations with learners. Students are asked to raise their hand and wait for their name to be called, to be respectful of all learners and to give everyone a chance to participate. I will use visual and verbal cues in an effort to remind young learners of these expectations. Every class is FULL of activity & we always want to be sure to finish all that has been planned :)

SIBLINGS (Per Outschool Policy):
"Parents are welcome to enroll two or more learners in the same section of a class provided that the class has enough spaces. You will need to enroll each learner separately for the section, but learners are welcome to share a device if that would make it easier to attend class."

REFUNDS & TRANSFERS:
Per Outschool's limited refund policy: "Full refund within 24 hours of purchase or up to a week in advance of the class." 

**Please ensure the time is AM or PM when signing up. I teach early mornings as well as evenings to suit all time zones and, unfortunately, I am not able to refill a spot last minute if it is realized that the time of day was mistaken or the class was missed. This is a non-refundable policy.

For one-time classes:
If within the week, you realize you won't be able to make class, please submit a transfer request from the classroom at least 24 hours in advance. This gives another student the opportunity to take the class by having enough time to see the opening and enroll. 
If contacted after class, I cannot refund or transfer. I understand that personal/family emergencies come up and I will do my best to support you if I am contacted before class. If your learner is withdrawn on your end within the non-refundable period, I am unable to transfer you. It is always best to contact me first for your options.

Please test Zoom before class. I am unable to access my conversations or classroom comments on Outschool after the class has already started.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS:
If a class has not met the minimum number of enrollments, it is subject to being canceled BUT I will send a message asking if you'd like a transfer to another date & time or full refund if the class is canceled. Automatic refunds are issued for no responses after original class start time.
