For the last ten years, I've taught pre-algebra and algebra to 7th and 8th graders in the Anchorage School District as well as for a small STEM project-based school-within-a-school program. My students have come from all backgrounds and skill levels and I have also taught electives such as financial literacy and math art. Math art is a class my students have always loved and I am currently teaching it as a combination class with a full pre-algebra course on Outschool. It is great for students to see the overlap in math, art, nature and beyond through hands-on projects.

I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Alaska Southeast as well as a certification to teach K-8 grades from the state of Alaska.

Detalles: Homework and Assessments: 
There will be homework assigned minimally for practice after each topic and feedback will be given promptly. At the end of each week, a quiz will be given on the material learned. Students will have until the following week to complete it and turn it in for feedback. *Note: While there is no official credit or grade given for this course, I will be providing a certificate of completion and feedback to each student at the end of the course, provided they’ve participated and been in at least 85% of class sessions throughout the semester.
