During the weeks of this class, the student will independently work on their final project and post in the classroom during the last week of class. The student can do anything for their final project to summarize the book that they read. Here are some suggestions for their final project: 1. Complete a Minecraft build to post in class to reinforce their reading comprehension of the book. The student could create a build that reflects on their reading (example: a pirate ship or treasures found in book). Students are welcome to use any Minecraft platform they have access to and will be building their Minecraft build on their own. 2. Complete a Lego block build that reflects on the student's reading. 3. Picture book that represents the book just like Beck's drawings throughout Treasure Hunters. 4. Game that reflects the book's theme. 5. Map drawing that shows all the places that the Kids visited. 6. Your choice on your final project as long as it reflects your reading of Treasure Hunters.

Experiencia de clase

Nivel de inglés: desconocido
Grado de EE. UU. 2 - 5
The student will be reading the fun book, "Treasure Hunters" by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein. This book is for the student who love treasure hunting, pirates, and adventure. There is a prologue and 70 chapters (don't panic as each chapter is approximately 5 pages or less). Each week the student will read 10 chapters. Throughout the class, fun games will be provided and the student will be working on their final project that will summarize the book.

I will post discussion questions four times a week. Some of the questions will include thoughtful information from the book. Examples of some questions in the classroom could be "what does the definition of (a particular word) mean and have you ever done this?" or "which aspect of the book most caught your eye - discuss why this was." The student will be able to play games such as Mad Libs or Would You Rather to reinforce that week's read.

Through the classroom's image posting option, the student will be able to show images of what they created for their final project. The student can use the option of uploading a short video if they are on a computer or a screenshot of their final project can be taken and uploaded to the device being used to sign in for this class.
Metas de aprendizaje
The student will be showing comprehension of their reading by answering discussion questions. The student will expand their creativity as shown by their final project.

Perfil
Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I teach unit studies, gameschooling, and life skills. I have extensive knowledge on how to work with special needs or special "abilities" persons who learn outside of the box due to my own life journey and the adventure of parenting special abilities' children.

My professional background is in social work since 1982. I have worked as a preschool teacher. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with specialties in mental health, substance abuse, and geriatrics. I have worked with ages 2-101 years old. I have homeschooled since 2002.

I value each person's individuality. I love to help others find their strengths and support. My teaching is eclectic, just like each person is. The definition of eclectic is "selecting or made up of what seems best of varied sources." The.key word in that definition is "best." I want to bring out the "best" in each student.

While homeschooling my children, I found "gameschooling." Gameschooling is the joy of using games to reinforce educational subjects. I absolutely love playing board games, card games and dice games. I have over 300 games in my home and growing.
