Experiencia de clase

Ahoy ye lads and lasses join me in Pirate Ship Adventure to learn to make your own pirate ship for your video games or 3d printing!

This an extension of my other beginner modeling camp Object Adventures. In this class we expand the use of the different modeling tools to create a single large scale model a pirate ship. Though this camp is a continuation any student who knows the basic interface of blender or if they have any modeling experience at all they are welcome to join in. If we have extra time towards the end of the week we will work with textures and painting our models to look like there it is made of wood.

Over the course of this camp, campers will learn 3d modeling techniques around building with concept art and If we have extra time towards the end of the week we will work with textures and painting our models to look like there it is made of wood. We will be using the software Blender as our platform to work on our 3d models. This is a free software and available at the website https://www.blender.org/.

Each class will be 60 mins where the campers will spend an 50 minutes following along with me and then 10 minutes to work on the daily homework assignment in camp and ask questions from me. Each day the campers will receive a different assignment to continue after class. These modeling assignments will take at least 1 hour of time after camp and are due an hour before the start of the next camp meeting.

Day 1 - Setup - Campers will setup up their files to work for the week with concept art and new tools.
Day 2 - Hull - Campers will start work on the details of the hull of their ships.
Day 3 - Hull & Masts - Campers will complete the work on the hull and create the masts.
Day 4 - Sails - Campers will work on the sails and placing all of the items in their final place
Day 5 - Show time - If we don't over run with modeling then we will be setting textures and painting our models.

Lista de útiles escolares
Campers are required to have a three button mouse and not a track pad for working in Blender.
Also you will need to download and install Blender a free 3d modeling software that can be found at https://www.blender.org/. Please check with the software and hardware requirements of your computer before downloading Blender. I have found most computers made in the last 5 years have no problems running the software.

Hello!
My name is Liz McCorkill and I am a 3d Artist, Online Teacher, Game Developer, Bookworm, and a Nerd. I am also the proud owner of two fur babies cats, Pebbles and Midnight. Warning Pebbles loves to go to school and may show up in class from time to time just to say hi.
I have been working with children for the last 4 years as a teacher, bus driver, and stay at home Aunt. Before that I worked in software testing and teaching at Central Piedmont Community College.
I would love to bring the classes I created for my college level students in 3d Modeling and Game Development to a younger generation so that they can see what really goes on behind the scenes to make their favorite games.
Along with games I love to read and delve into world history and trivia like why do we shake hands with our right hands and not our left? Well for those that don't know it is because people would use their dominant hand to fight with swords, daggers, or guns. It was a sign of respect to put down your weapon and shake hands. Also it was harder to hurt the other person if your dominant hand was busy.
Pebbles and I cannot wait to meet your student and show them around my world be it in 3d modeling, books or history.
