Experiencia de clase
Welcome to piano lessons with me! I’m happy to be your piano instructor. If your child is eager to explore the world of music through piano, look no further! In this class, your student will be introduced to the piano using various games and techniques. I tend to use a variety of methods in my class including the Faber Piano method while drawing from some elements of Kodaly and Orff to create a multifaceted music education program. I will be covering a few ongoing topics such as: *music theory- rhythm lab, note patterns and naming, time signatures *music history and appreciation- style, dynamics, tempo, timbre *technique- a slow introduction to scales, chords, hand positioning *ear training- playback games for rhythm, melody, chord recognition *improvisation- opportunities for students to be creative and make up their own songs My teaching style is very interactive. I like to help children truly learn with their whole bodies and teach to all learning styles (kinesthetic, auditory, visual, linguistic, social, solitary, and logical). I use techniques such as call and response, singing, chants, flashcards, picture visuals, and video presentations. I am a caring teacher and strive to understand the various needs of my students. My ultimate goal, while teaching foundational piano basics, is to make sure students enjoy learning music and feel comfortable expressing themselves creatively on the piano. I will give immediate feedback through our live video time together and help guide them on the right path. No prior experience is required for this beginning piano class. Come with a desire to learn and enjoy music!
