I will play on my own keyboard and demonstrate how to play each song while teaching the correct technique and posture . Each student is required to have their own instrument. I prefer to explain playing in front of my student because it is the ideal way to give a full explanation and also, because by visualizing and hearing the student can understand much better what they have to do. I like to explain everything in detail using simply terms to have them understand. I am kind, honest and sympathy with my students.

The first class we will talk about introducing the new lesson and immediately we start playing the first exercise that contain, sight-reading, playing, analysis( pitch, combined movements between left and right hand). The interaction between the student and me is essential to create a good and relax space to communicate each other. For example I always give direction of what specific lesson the student go to play to the next class, they never go back home without understand what they have to do from their homework.
Any one can come to my class, not previous piano knowledge is required. Students can start learning from the very beginning.

My name is Lazara Luisa Diaz. I am a musician living in New jersey, and graduated from "University of Art ISA" in Cuba, my natal country. I have been teaching music for 30 years. In Cuba worked over 20 years in one of the must important conservatory of the nation "Alejandro G.Caturla" graduating severals generations of guitarist and musicians. I moved to the US in 2013. Here, continue my career as a teacher and a performer. Actually I have done my master degree at NJCU, US under the guidance of Dr. Celil Refik kaya .I won a 3rd Price at Marku Guitar Competition on May 2022, being the 1st Cuban American honored in this Guitar Festival. I have recorded my first CD "Doce Cuerdas" in Los Angeles, California, it was produced for the great composer, producer and professor "Yalil Guerra", Latin Grammy winner. I have been working in two Private Music Schools in Newark NJ teaching piano and guitar. Also, I worked for the "Board of Education of Union City" in NJ. I have performed in different cities of my country Cuba and US like Wisconsin, New York, California and New Jersey with my husband from our Duo "Bona Fide". If you like to see more of my work, check out my website www.wic.today, where you will find my curriculum and videos of my performances. My teaching philosophy is that all humans beings have the capacity to develop a gift, including the gift of music. Any one is capable of learning and to play a few musical pieces, either in a short time or long term no matter how complex they may be.
I would like to share this anecdote. Four years ago, I was giving classes to a six year old boy. One day his mother visited the classroom and said her son was not able to practice at home because he could not read the sheet music. After I gave the boy a short explanation, hi smiled and started to play the piece perfectly. His mother asked him how he was able to do it and he answered that when he saw my face he felt inspired . We all laughed. If any one is interested in learning good music, there is no need to worry about how difficult it seems. I promise that with an easy method, it will be an enjoyable experience.
