This fun and engaging class will teach students a different letter each week. We will learn the American Sign Language (ASL) sign for the letter of the week, and sign one word that begins with that letter. Each class will include short, fun songs that will review both signs and the phonetic sound that letter makes. Students will listen to descriptive words to guess what other things start with the letter of the week. Ex. "A is for apple. I'm thinking of a green animal that also starts with the ah sound. He has bumpy skin and sharp teeth and loves to swim in the water. It's not a crocodile, it's an Ah, ah... ? " Week of March 7th: Letter A, apple Week of March 14th: Letter B, beautiful Week of March 21st: Letter C, cat Week of March 28th: Letter D, duck Week of April 4th: Letter E ( There will be no classes March 30-April 4th) Week of April 11th: Letter E, elephant & Letter F, fun April 18th: Letter G, good (hard) giraffe (soft) Letters will continue for each consecutive week. If a day is canceled due to holiday we will do 2 letters the following week to stay on track and keep all sections on the same letter. I will not have classes from May 6th to May 9th because I will be out of state. We will review signs taught in previous weeks at the end of each class for any new learners that join. After learning the letter Z, the class will cycle back to letter A for the following week. Learners should know how to find the unmute button for when I send a "request to unmute" Depending on the class size, I may keep learners unmuted for the entire class. If muted, note that it is only to prevent distractions and ensure that every learner can hear me properly.
