Adivinos de papel

Los estudiantes aprenderán a hacer un “adivino” con papel con solo unos pocos pliegues. (Es posible que en su día los padres lo llamáramos “atrapa piojos”).

Experiencia de clase

Back in my day, paper fortune tellers - a.k.a cootie catchers - were all the rage during recess time. These simple pieces of paper told us our future - what we should eat for lunch, who we should see a movie with... basically like a manual "Magic 8 Ball."

Paper folding (origami) has been a lost art, and less and less kids are experimenting with paper. Origami is more than just “folding paper.” It’s geometry, it’s fine motor skills, it’s critical thinking, it’s SO MANY SKILLS!

While paper fortune tellers may not be an origami bird or frog, it is something simple, yet fun enough, to help build an interest in a history-filled art form.

Join me as I teach your child how to make a fortune teller. We will complete all of the needed cuts and folds to create one, then use crayons and pencils to fill it in. Your child will then feel comfortable to make their own fortune tellers with their own “mini fortunes” inside.

So… what does your future hold for you?

Hello! I am Miss Leslie! Thank you for considering me to teach your child in Outschool. My goal is to foster a love of learning from all students, whether I teach them one time, or one hundred times!

Experience I Bring:
⭐️Bachelors in Early Childhood Education
⭐️Masters in Reading Education
⭐️12+ years teaching kindergarten
⭐️ 1.5 years of teaching elementary and junior high physical education
⭐️1 year of reading intervention
⭐️1.5 years working with 0-3 year olds
⭐️ Over 14 years working with students with special needs
⭐️Tutoring K-6th grade
⭐️2 years online ESL teacher
⭐️1.5 years online kindergarten

I believe that all children are capable of learning. I also know that these young years in a child's life are full of growth, and I would like to touch the lives of as many children as possible during that crucial time in brain development. I teach though silly voices, song, and love to interact with my students. It takes a LOT to keep young kids engaged during online teaching, and I would love to use my gift to teach your child!

I currently exclusively teach a beginner ASL class. I still continue to teach in a public elementary school during the daytime, so I am unable to accomodate additional daytime classes at this time. In the summer, my offerings vary.

I have two young children of my own, and love to spend my spare time making as many memories as possible. Our family is very involved in church and sports. We love the outdoors, but also love a relaxing evening in.

Please let me know what I can do to help your child.
