In this one-time class will paint rocks to either keep or hide, your choice! I will show 3 simple examples, but you are free to paint your own designs also. This is a beginner class, so no previous experience is needed. But, since paint can be messy, some adults may want to supervise their little painters, while remaining off camera. We will also decorate a rock with permanent marker so that it's finished drying quickly. We will chat while we paint too! We'll talk about where we like to hunt for rocks. We'll also talk about how we can hide and find rocks and the fun of posting them on social media, with a parent's help, of course!

Painting can be messy, so parental supervision, while remaining off camera, for younger children may be helpful. Also, wearing a smock, apron, or painting shirt will help keep paint off from clothing.

3 Rocks: clean and dry, medium to large flat ones are best Rock painted and dry with solid color of choosing. This will be for the sunshine rock, as shown in class pic. Hello! I'm an artist who loves nature. My work focuses on capturing and creating with the natural beauty around us. I love collecting beach stones from my local Michigan beaches, and I turn my finds into one-of-a kind jewelry. I'm also a landscape photographer. I will be teaching the learners on Outschool how to also create their own unique works of art with found items, like beach stones and glass.
I've been part of several local galleries. I have sold my work there, and I also maintain an online shop, Facebook Page, and sometimes do art fairs. I believe that creating, marketing, and selling one’s own artwork is the best training possible to be able to teach it to others.
Currently, I am a Reading Interventionist for Grades Kindergarten through 2nd at my local Elementary School. I help struggling readers become more fluent. I use various methods and techniques to do this. I lead small groups and create lots of engagement for the students so they have fun! This often makes them want to read more which creates better readers. We also work on gaining comprehension throughout our reading classes.
I also have over 6 years experience homeschooling my own children, from ages 3 to 11. I have been teaching English online, for over 3 years, to speakers all over the world! This includes over 5,000, 1:1, classes to both children, ages 3-18, and adults too. I have been teaching on education platforms like VIPKid, Cambly, Zebra English, GoGoKid, BookNook, and Littera Education. This extensive experience allows me to help your young English speaker learn more English. I am also skilled at teaching reading classes to native English speakers. I adjust the lesson to each child and extend, if advanced, or simplify for those children who are shy to speak/read, or lower levels.
I earned a Master's Degree in Philosophy, and I had an Art minor during this time. I received many awards during my high school and college careers for my artwork. I also have a TESOL Certificate for teaching English to speakers of other languages. For reading, I've been professionally trained to provide reading classes that will help your young readers be more comfortable. This helps make reading easier for them, and, usually, they will enjoy reading more.
