Pintando poesía con acuarelas: AA Milne

Delve into the world of poetry by reading a poem and then transforming it into a work of art. Together, we will read and discuss the poem, Wind on the Hill by A.A. Milne (beloved author of the Winnie-the-Pooh series). 

In this class, students will learn:

- Type of poem
- Vocabulary words 
- Imagery
- Identifying mood and setting
- Watercolor painting techniques

After our discussion, students will be given time to paint a watercolor painting that is inspired by the poem. I will be demonstrating different watercolor techniques (washes, filling, splatters, layering and blending).  

This course is part of my Painting Poetry class series, but it is not a requirement to take all classes. No prior art experience is required, as students will be encouraged to paint the overall mood, theme or setting, rather than specific items. For this poem, the theme is nature and will likely incorporate bright, vibrant colors, rather than the darker shades for the Edgar Allen Poe session.
