What kind of star is our sun? Is Pluto still a dwarf planet, or has it been reclassified again? What are asteroids, and where are they found in the solar system? Where do comets come from, and why can you only see them once in a lifetime? How big is Jupiter anyway?

This class will present learners with an overview of our solar system. We will cover the objects found in the solar system, including the sun, planets, dwarf planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and meteoroids. We will cover where all these objects can be found in the solar system, and talk about sizes of objects, and the vast distances apart different objects are found.

This class will be based around interactive dialogue with myself and the learners using visual aids as a guide. I incorporate Socratic questioning into my interactions with learners, encouraging them to use their critical thinking skills to come to conclusions themselves.

Concepts we will cover in this class include:

- Objects in the solar system
- How important gravity is in the solar system
- The extremely vast distances found in space
- The scale of sizes we find in the universe and our solar system

This is an introduction course aimed for learners who wish to review their knowledge or who would like to gain some basic foundational knowledge of the solar system.
Metas de aprendizaje
Learners will learn the basics of our solar system's objects, their sizes, distances in space, and the importance of gravity.
