¡Clase de matemáticas continua para jardín de infantes (K5) que a su hijo le encantará!

This class meets in-person 2 times a week. Using the worksheet I send on Sunday, the students COPY ME as they fill in the day of the week and then we dive into skip counting with our furry friends as helpers. 
 
We will then fill in our worksheet and cover 4-5 concepts each class through short 5-10 minute mini-lessons.
Topics May Include: 
Counting - Fun, active rote counting to song  (counting to 200, skip counting by 5's, 10's, 2's, 3's forward and backward)
Number sense -  <,>,=, 1 more, 1 less, 10 more, 10 less, reading and writing numbers to 100
Mental math strategies  - counting in ones, tens and hundreds place, adding 0 and 1, counting on, counting back, doubles, doubles +1, make 10, adding or subtracting 10, facts that  make 10, using number line
Addition and Subtraction word problems to 12 
Base 10 - using  Tens and Ones Chart, unix cubes, etc. to show value of numbers and teach 2-digit addition   
Money - Name of coin, value, identify what's on the coin, adding them together, words problems related to coins
Time - Numbers on clock, hour and minute hand, telling time to hour and 1/2 hour, analog and digital clock 
Graphing - using pictographs to fill in, and analyze information through different types of  graphs
Geometry -  2D basic shapes, introducing whole and half.
Measurement - English & Metric basic introduction to ways we measure, tools we use to measure and examples of how we measure - inch, centimeter, foot, yard, ounce, pound, liter, ton, cup, pint, half gallon, gallon


Students learn in many different ways and this class utilizes proven K5 strategies....small burst of learning, creativity, repeating, participating, fixing my silly mistakes, helping out my furry friends with problems, and more.  Students will cover daily math practice, skills, and strategies. 



Videos, handouts, games, instruction using a whiteboard, hundreds chart, coins, crayons, worksheets, and shared computer screen will be utilized. 

I send out the week's worksheets the Sunday before class begins,  including posters for days of the week, months of the year, and a hundred chart.

I can't say enough good things about Ms. Wendy. I never knew how much it goes in teaching Kindergarteners. I got to see that when in Pandemic we had to resort to online classes. We tried several online classes for my son and realized how challenging it is for teachers to keep the kids engaged while following the structure. Ms. Wendy does it as it is super easy and effortless. She is very organized and kids get their optional homework right after class. Her curriculum is great where kids feel they are playing and actually learning Math along the way. And he loves the last part of the class, where he gets to show and tell. Incredible class and teacher. Ms Wendy has had a huge impact on our son’s math in such a short period of time.  Lessons are fun and the students are always engaged. Thanks to Ms. Wendy my son can now do a number of mathematical equations such as adding, subtracting and counting by 2s, 5s and 10s. He learned his days of the week within 2 classes and can tell time. Great experience!

We cannot say enough kind words about Ms. Wendy. My daughter looks forward to her class everyday. She's engaging and sweet and makes math fun. My daughter does fun games with her and doesn't even realize that she is learning Math. So important to make learning Math fun so kids grow to love numbers and not think it's boring. Trust me sign your kids up you won't be disappointed.

This class is perfect. It is the first class we’ve taken at Outschool where I felt like the teacher was a real school teacher. Her lessons are just enough repetition to be good for memorization but not to become boring. My daughter looks forward to her class every day.
