In this class, the student will receive assistance and learn tips on how to approach words problems. Word problems can be presented as equations, as a scenario with further information in question form, or as multi-operational, meaning that they are multiplying, adding, subtracting, or dividing all in one single word problem. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and multi-operational word problems will be covered in this class, depending on the needs of the student. The teacher will demonstrate how to approach a word problem, finding key words and key values, and then solving the problem. Then the teacher and student will work problems together, eventually the teacher will have the student work several problems independently to show mastery. The student should be able to read and perform addition and subtraction at a basic.
