One-on-one lessons are catered to the individual learner's needs.  The parent may request topics or skills they would like me to cover with the learner.  Alternatively, I can assess the learner's abilities and create lessons based on individual needs. 

Each session will begin with a review of the previous lesson (except the first session which will begin with introductions).  After a brief review, an element of writing will be discussed and practiced. 

Verbal feedback will be given. The learner is encouraged to upload work to the classroom between class sessions for individualized, specific feedback.  

Lesson topics will vary depending on parent request and learner needs. Below is a sample of possible topics. The class will match the pace of the learner, so we may go faster and cover more or slow down and cover less.

A google doc will be created for your learner. This allows us to share notes, and is an easy, convenient way for me to access their homework. 

I have experience teaching writing from elementary school through college.  I believe that writing is a skill that is needed in the work world, academia, and even in day-to-day living.  The stronger our writing skills are, the more we get what we want out of life because with the ability to write comes the ability to think critically and to present a logical argument.
