¡Oh Chemistree, Oh Chemistree! Utilizamos la ciencia para hacer adornos festivos

In this class, we will use chemistry and creativity to make two different holiday decorations that you can hang on your chemistree, in your windows, or anywhere that needs a festive decoration. 

In class 1, we will learn about solubility and crystals before making a sparkling crystal ornament. 
In class 2, we will learn about chromatography before using what we've learned to make colorful bulbs or snowflakes. 

How class is structured:
Each class will start with introductions and an icebreaker. Then, I'll present a 10-15 minute lesson on the science behind that day's project. Then I will work with the students to lead them through the project and answer any questions or troubleshoot any problems that may come up. At the end of class, I'll take any additional questions and wrap up that day's class with a summary of what we've covered. 

Students will be encouraged to share photos of their finished projects in the classroom. 

Written instructions will be uploaded into the classroom 24 hours before each class.

Some students may require assistance with the projects- Week 1 does require boiling water and dissolving borax powder, but that is actually a step that is taken before class.
