I enjoy teaching with visuals and activities that students can do with the teacher. We will begin with a discussion, then a video, and move on to craft time. Students will recreate the waves of the sea in a bottle.Lesson 3Ocean ChemistryWhat are the five oceans? What is ocean water made of? What is salinity? Egg LabLesson 4Jellyfish Sting?What's a jellyfish made of? Why do they sting you? How can you stop the stinging? What other sea creatures are related to them? Let's recreate a jellyfish in a jar!

I love teaching oceanography! I have a wide collection of specimens and shells. Having been a Biology teacher for thirty-five years has allowed me to teach students about ocean life. Every summer, I offer Oceanography summer camps for kids. I now want to offer this same experience on Outschool.

Students need a pencil, scissors, markers or crayons. Day 2 Students need a bottle of baby oil, blue food coloring, a cylindrical jar, small funnel, towel or tray for spills (olive or pepper jar) Day 3 Students need scissors, markers or crayons, 2 glasses that are 2/3 full of water, a full box of salt or sea salt, a spoon, and two boiled eggs. Day 4 (Students will need assistance) 1 clear plastic shopping bag rubber band large mouth jar scissors food coloring towel or tray for spills

I suggest a parent be closeby because children may have difficulty cutting or tying things. Also, closing jars tightly may be an issue. I highly recommend spreading a towel over the surface if needed to prevent spills.
