This is a 6 week class where the students will read through chapters of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian each week. Each class we will be discussing the chapters we read, going over vocabulary for the chapters and answering discussion questions. Every student will need a copy of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian by C.S. Lewis and each week they will need to read the chapters before the next class. Students are expected to actively participate during class and with the assigned reading and vocabulary each week. We will review the chapters we read before and prep with vocabulary and pre reading questions for the next chapters.

Students will learn to establish and share their own thoughts while reading a book. We will be looking at new vocabulary for each of the chapters. Discussing what we think about what has happened, is happening and will happen as we move through the book.

The four Pevensie children from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe are called back to Narnia when Caspian, the nephew of the evil usurping ruler, sides with the true Narnians to oppose him. There they find that centuries have passed since their last visit, and that, once again, they face a battle against overwhelming odds. Parents need to know that there is some violence here, with battles and beheadings with swords. This class is taught literary analysis and not allegory.
