There's no doubt that technology has changed society in a short amount of time. It will continue to shift society in the coming years and decades as well. As teenagers, the world of today, will not be the world you will inherit into adulthood. Bitcoin and Ethereum holders will be the new Billionaires. NFTs will change the way we think about art. The Metaverse will change the way we meet with each other and socialize. Want to know what else will change in the years to come? 

Welcome to New Age Wealth, where we will meet to discuss all the ways wealth is shifting in the 2020s and beyond. The focus of the discussion will be topics such as Cryptocurrency, NFTs, The Metaverse, and more. We will also discuss how you, as a child in this generation can capitalize on your knowledge of technology to take advantage of one of the greatest times in history to build wealth. This is a one-time class for ages 9-13 and will be taught using a presentation and discussion format. 

My goal is to create a meaningful, comfortable, social learning environment where learners discuss exciting topics and connect with each other. Prior knowledge of the topics listed above isn’t necessary to gain the most from this class. Learners will have plenty of opportunities to share their input and listen to others.

Greetings parents! I'm Mr. McVay and I'm happy you came across my profile! 

I have been in the field of Youth Development for over 14 years. I have a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Children's Studies, an M.S.Ed in Special Education for Grades 7-12, and am a Special Education teacher licensed in New York for grades K-12. I'm passionate about working with children and teens because helping develop our youth makes for a brighter future!

As an educator, I have four core principles that I believe in deeply and guide my educational practice: 

1. Teaching should be inclusive and culturally responsive
2. Building skills are essential 
3. ALL children have the capacity to learn! 
4. Support goes beyond academic needs; learners need to be supported socially and emotionally as well

My classes here on the Outschool platform are centered around some of my passions. As a math Special Education teacher of over 8 years, I'm passionate about teaching math to neurodiverse learners who may struggle in a traditional setting. Over the years, I have been told I am a patient educator who can break down topics into simple, easy-to-understand pieces. I'm also passionate about helping teens understand what the world will soon become and not what the world is currently. We are in the midst of a global transition in how business is handled and conducted. We are moving towards a society increasingly dominated by digital technology. It's important to prepare our children for the world they will one day inherit, not the world that will soon fade away. For that reason, I offer classes centered around Artificial Intelligence, financial literacy, Online businesses, and the Metaverse. 

Something personal you should know about me is that my hobbies include watching and discussing sports such as the NBA and NFL, following the stock market and cryptocurrency, day trading, and working on my online businesses!
