Narratives tell stories: stories that share an experience, stories that entertain the reader. The beauty of a narrative story is that it can be written in different genres such as novels, short stories, poems, diaries and even biographies. First Class: I will go over what a narrative story is: - Who are the characters? - Where is the story set? - What is the problem or complication and how will it be solved? - How will the story end? - Planning the story - beginning, middle, end - Organise ideas into paragraphs - Choose words carefully to entertain the reader - Write in sentences - Pay attention to spelling and punctuation - Check and and then double-check your work In this Summer Camp we are inspired by picture prompts and sounds and list of adjectives that can be used in each story. As a writer you have the creative freedom to add personality and style to each piece - the picture prompts are only provided as inspiration. A handout is provided to help each writer. I am an easygoing teacher and enjoy student interaction. We have to be mindful of that face that this is a writing class and if there is too much background noise I may mute the learner to help learners concentrate while writing. You are welcome to share your story if you feel comfortable to do so. Class One: Through The Doorway Class Two: The Year 2050
