Música alrededor del mundo

Learners will experience folk music from all around the globe in this interactive music class! During our time, we will sing, dance, and study the elements of music. Each week, we will spend time learning beat, rhythm, melody, how to properly find and use our singing voice. We will practice using hand signs to identify the different pitches using solfege and then transfer that knowledge to basic note reading. Each week will work as a stand-alone class or can be combined into an entire semester of general music class. We will spend the final two weeks of the class using all of our knowledge gained throughout the semester to perform our favorite folksongs and have a virtual cultural festival! Henry Wadsworth Longfellow states that "Music is the universal language of mankind." The global economy that we are currently facing brings people together from all cultures around the world. All cultures share the language of music and music is a wonderful source of literature to study. No prior knowledge is required. Countries included will be:
