It's the night of January 18th. The police have been called to the Sanders' mansion. There has been a murder! John Sanders was having a little gathering, but something went wrong. In fact, what began as a gathering turned into something deadly! Was it jealousy? Revenge? Whatever it was, what we do know is, IT WAS MURDER! Someone murdered John Sanders. Was it Ben, his son? Maybe it was his wife! Or maybe the maid became a little too greedy! The clock is ticking, and Inspector Herd needs assistance solving the case. Can you solve the murder of John Sander? Or will his murderer go free? Do you have what it takes to stop the criminal? Pay close attention, take notes, and find the culprit! Bring your detective skills, and join our Murder Mystery Squad as we solve the mystery at Sanders Mansion!

In this murder mystery, students will watch short clips that include the murder and statements from the suspects. Students will be given suspect worksheets where they can add information learned about each suspect to help in solving the case. Clues, timeline, and suspect information will be provided throughout the game. Students will have the opportunity to discuss their ideas throughout the game as well. In this, students will be using critical thinking and inferencing skills. Once all clues have been read, students will then make their accusations about who is the murderer and why. At the conclusion of class, students will make their accusations of who murdered John Sanders.

Students will be given time for discussion with each other. I may mute the class as needed and ask students to raise their hands to speak so that all students can be heard and minimize confusion. I ask that students be respectful of the teacher and other students in the class by practicing good listening and given others a chance to speak.
**PLEASE NOTE: The short clip of the murder does show someone being hit in the head and a very small amount of blood splatter. There is also some cigarette smoking (not much) by the suspects in the short clips. These are digital-type clips (like a video games). Students ages 16-18 are welcome as well!

**This class is very fun for virtual parties. Message me if you would like to request a time not listed or a private party.

Hello! My name is Casey, and I have been an educator for 15 years, but I have over 20 years of experience working with children. Much of my experience is teaching Pre-K and Kindergarten skills, but I also have experience in higher grade levels and with children of all ages. I have a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education K-6. I also have a Graduate Certification in Dyslexia and a Masters degree in Reading. In addition, I have 7 years of experience teaching online ESL courses, and I have my TESOL certification.

I strive to incorporate fun into learning. My passion is teaching literacy and incorporating it into all content areas. I love animals and enjoy teaching children about them as well. I believe children can learn better when they can relate to the topic. When a child can correlate their interests to the subject, he or she will usually embrace learning. I firmly believe in differentiated learning. Songs, visual aids, hands-on activities, and kinesthetics are often incorporated into my lessons when best effective. Not every child learns in the same way and at the same pace, so I aim to meet each child where they are and provide instruction that matches their learning style. I encourage students to think, discuss, and share whenever possible. In my classroom, we can learn and have fun!

I have a variety of academic courses including early writing, reading, and math skills. While I love teaching academic courses, I also enjoy teaching fun courses over a variety of topics from dinosaurs and unicorns to social book clubs and solving murder mysteries! I have created classes that fits something for all ages. So, please check them out!

A little about me:
I am married with six children ages 22, 19, 16, 7, 4, and 3! They give me a lot of inspiration for my classes as well! I enjoy spending time with my family. We love to watch movies, play games, and take fun vacations. I also love to read and write. I hope to write and publish a children's book some day. My top adventure on my bucket list is to take a vacation aboard a passenger train and visit different places. I love animals and have two dogs and one cat at home. I enjoy watching documentaries about different animals, especially ocean life.

Thank you for taking time to read my profile. If you have any interests for a class, please feel free to share your ideas with me. I will do all I can to provide a lesson your child will enjoy while learning. Please request a certain time you would like available for a class, and I will strive to meet your request! I hope to see your child in my class soon!

Please note-

*Siblings discounts are always available! Please message when enrolling siblings in case I don't catch it. I want to make sure you receive those discounts!

*Transferring into another section-
In regard to transferring a student to another section, I will not be able to process a transfer request made within 24 hours of the original class start time. Doing this can lead to possibly not getting the spot filled and having to cancel class due to lack of enrollment. Also, if you receive a discount for a class section, I will not be able to transfer you to a new section using the same discount as the discount applies only to the original section the student was enrolled in. However, if the transfer is due to low enrollment or I need to cancel the class, I will happily give the same discount!

*Cancellations-
Limited - Full refund within 24 hours of purchase or up to a week in advance of the class.
