Ross Thompson was out on his usual drive and was about to stop at his favorite place to get a warm meal on a cold night, The Baxter Hotel. Ross knew something wasn't right well before he got there when he saw a sign he had never seen before. When he arrived at the hotel, he saw...

After the full story is read in class, clues will be given that will help solve the mystery. There are 25 clues in all. Everyone who wants to will be allowed to share their theories every 5 clues and ask each other questions. After all 25 clues are given, you will each have a chance to solve the mystery and figure out the whole story. Take notes, make connections, and don’t let poor Ms. Mullaney die without justice. Good luck.

While it seems to be just a game, many important skills are actually being used:
- Relevant vs Irrelevant Information
- Fact vs Opinion

I have always been very curious and creative and I love to inspire it in kids (both my own and others) as well. I like to teach through projects, which give students a choice on the way they learn and show their understanding. I also love to teach through games and like to combine game elements in my classes.

I believe history, studied in context, to be extremely important. In fact, it's one of our best teachers. The other "subject" I believe to be of high importance is Logic. Unfortunately, logic has long been left off most curriculums. Knowing how to examine events and history through logical thinking and analysis gives us a deep, true understanding of our world.

I'm a big believer in every parent having all the need to school their children all the way through high school. So, if you are ever in doubt, let me encourage you.

My educational consulting company, It's A Potsick Education, exists to build up curious, creative learners. I do custom content/lesson design, private, online events, consulting, and more. Message me for anything you need.

I was a classroom teacher in the public schools for over 15 years and, for the past 14 years, have been helping my wife homeschool as well. I currently hold state certifications in Florida (certificate # 960883) in the areas of Middle Grades Social Science and Language Arts and Elementary Education. I have extensive classroom experience with all Elementary and Middle Grades subject content and have done private tutoring for many years in Math, Civics, Science, and Language Arts.

Contact me anytime to share any classes you would like me teach, for classes you really wanted to take, but didn't fit your schedule, or any feedback.
