Experiencia de clase

Nivel de inglés: desconocido
Grado de EE. UU. 6
This course focuses on the most important skills that learners need for understanding and solving decimal problems in 6th Grade Math, including using multiplication and division and converting between decimals and fractions. For a full listing of topics included, see the course outline below.

This course contains 3 lessons and 1 help / make-up session, and will last for 4 weeks. The class will meet once a week for 40 minutes per session.

-- Course Outline --
Lesson 1: Multiplication With Decimals
This lesson will teach learners how to use multiplication with decimals. Examples and practice problems will begin simple and gradually introduce more complexity and nuance, in order to develop deeper understanding of fundamental rules and steps.

Lesson 2: Division With Decimals
This lesson will teach learners how to use division with decimals. Simple techniques will be used to give learners a consistent and repeatable process for solving any division problem with decimals.

Lesson 3: Converting Between Decimals and Fractions
This lesson will teach learners how to convert values from decimal to fraction, and from fraction back to decimal. This lesson will build upon several of the skills learned previously in this course.

Session 4: Help & Make-up Session
This session will help learners solidify understanding of the lessons in this course, by giving a chance to review and ask questions about prior discussions, examples and practice problems. Learners will have a chance to share knowledge and insight gained in order to help others better understand the concepts discussed and relevant topics. This session may also serve as a make-up session for any learners that have missed prior lessons.

-- Course Structure --
The general structure of each class will include a thorough introduction of the topic using simple illustrations or discussion, followed by example problems solved with instructor guidance, ultimately leading to independent practice problems followed by brief discussion of answers. Lessons will close with a summary of key points. Learners will be able to ask questions and discuss topics on the class page. I will answer all questions posted to the class page within 24 hours. I will be active in responding to learner and parent questions throughout the course.

For each lesson, I will share my screen and guide the class through the lesson. The lesson will be conducted using a “Class Materials” PDF. This will be provided for each lesson, along with a separate Homework PDF. An Answer Key PDF will be provided (for homework problems) 2 days after each lesson. Learners are invited to use the provided documents in whichever way works best for them (printing or using electronically).

In order to be successful, learners should have a good working knowledge of math topics in Elementary grades. Learners will need to understand the basic structure of decimals and fractions, as well as how to use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
