•	fun stuff (crosswords, activity pages, etc.);
•	and a culminating product (last week.) I’ll provide a selection of ideas so that you can get your creativity moving! These options will offer activities in several different learning styles and will allow students to create and share through documents, photos, or videos. They could also be a presentations through Padlet, Google Slides, or another app that you enjoy. Rubrics will be provided for each project option.

We may also use Flipgrid to interact with one another, and Animoto to make video presentations.

Participation and performance in the above activities will be used for evaluation. Student submissions will have teacher evaluation that will often lead to further discussion.

Students will need to have a journal for weekly prompts, and they will need to either borrow the book, "Mr. Popper's Penguins" (Florence and Richard Atwater) from the library or purchase a copy. When I was growing up, we traveled a lot, and I always looked forward to a new trip because my mother would buy a new stack of books for me. I would sit for hours in the back seat of our car and read. Whenever I ran out of books to read, I would read the billboards and every highway sign very loudly. That was rather tedious for my parents, so I'm sure that's why they always made sure I had plenty of books to read!

Combine my love of reading with my experience as a reading teacher and my masters in Curriculum and Instruction, and I believe you'll find that I'm prepared and pumped-up to help your student's reading experience be the best it can be!
