1-2 horas por semana. The learner will practice the techniques taught in each of the lesson videos as they progress at their own pace in weaving their tapestry. The homework will be to share an in progress photo with me as they complete each section of the tapestry using each of the techniques. This will give me the opportunity to give feedback and encouragement to the learner. Please post all photos, questions and comments in our Outschool classroom.Experiencia de clase
More Tapestry Adventures is about continuing to explore the creative art of tapestry weaving with all its color, texture, shape, and fun ways to use your imagination! In this four-part, self-paced class series, we’ll move from the basics of tapestry weaving to learning how to create two shapes; triangles and half rounds. These shapes open up possibilities for all kinds of organic design and movement in tapestry. We'll learn a bit about the creative process as I share my thoughts and design decisions in a weave along format. There is always the option to pause the prerecorded video and rewind at any time to see something again and to watch the video as many times as needed so there's no need for the learner to feel rushed. There is a camera on my hands for the learner to watch as I demonstrate each step while describing the process. Tapestry weaving is a slow art form so I encourage the learner to work slowly and enjoy the creative process. Weaving can be very calming with the sensory experience of working with yarn and the slow paced repetitive nature of the process. My goal is always to focus on the creative process and nurture the learner's creative spirit as they discover new ways to express themselves. I will check our classroom conversations Monday - Friday for comments, questions and photo posts of tapestry work in progress and will respond as soon as possible within the hours of 8am-6pm MST (Arizona, US). Loom + yarn + color, texture, shape + imagination = fun creative expression!
Metas de aprendizaje

Lista de útiles escolares
Please see the materials list in the Lesson 1 files where I have shared details for recommended places to get the following materials if you don't have them. In the list there is a kit that contains all the essential materials I've listed below. The kit can be purchased for $20 ($18 with the coupon code CAROL10 that will give you 10% off) from Raven King Crafts, the Etsy shop where I found the kit. If you prefer to find the materials separately or already have some on hand, here's the list of the essential materials need: 1. Simple frame style weaving loom - frames made of wood work best and are much easier to work on for the learner than a cardboard loom. 2. Warp thread - a strong cotton thread such as 8/4 cotton twine or carpet warp. 3. Weft yarn - preferably natural fibers such as wool or cotton but other fibers are also fine, just be sure there is no stretch to the yarn. 4. Tapestry needle (plastic or metal both work) with a blunt tip and large eye. Optional: an embroidery or sewing needle with a sharp point for stitching tapestry on paper option for display, a piece of heavy weight paper or cloth to stitch the tapestry on as one option for display, a weaving comb/beater (a hair comb with wide teeth can work)
