I will informally assess learner progress by observing their completion of drawings throughout and at the end of each class, while also leaving time for student questions and extra demonstrations. These informal assessments will inform me on where each learner needs more guidance or challenge.Experiencia de clase

🌈***$10 OFF YOUR FIRST ART CLASS WITH ME*** use code MNICAART10 at checkout🌈 🎨In this ongoing class, learners will be introduced to a different modern (and sometimes contemporary) artist each week. The content will always be age-appropriate. 🎨Each class begins with the artist's introduction. This will be done through a slideshow for the best visual experience. There will also be discussion time to help learners put themselves in the artists’ shoes and understand what artists of the time were thinking, feeling, and seeing. Following the slideshow, learners will get to participate in creating artwork in the style of the artist of that week. This will be a step-by-step process modeled by Teacher Mónica and there will always be time for questions throughout the class. At the end of each class, students can share their in-progress or completed artwork to each other. It’s always okay if students need to finish their project after our meeting time - everyone has a different creative process and Teacher Mónica is here to support that! 🎨SCHEDULE: ⭐Fall 2024⭐ Week of Sept 2 - Gustav Klimt (paper cut-out, black paper, and metallic sharpies) Week of Sept 9 - Jackson Pollock (watercolor) Week of Sept 16 - Berthe Morisot (soft pastels/oil pastels on colored paper) Week of Sept 23 - Jeanne Mammen (colored pencils) Week of Sept 30 - Henri Matisse (paper collage) Week of Oct 7 - Edvard Munch (oil pastels) Week of Oct 14 - Keith Haring (markers) Week of Oct 21- Andy Warhol (markers) (Pop Art food) Week of Oct 28 - Vincent Van Gogh (oil pastels on colored paper) 🪐Winter 2024-2025🪐 Week of Dec 2 - Frida Kahlo (TBD) Week of Dec 9 - Jean Mammen (colored pencils) Week of Dec 16 - Georgia O'Keefe (watercolor) Week of Dec 23 - Yayoi Kusama (construction paper and markers) Week of Dec 30 - Mary Cassatt (oil pastels) Week of Jan 6 - Helen Frankenthaler (watercolor) Week of Jan 13 - Hilma af Klint (markers) Week of Jan 20 - Louise Bourgeois (yarn and pipe cleaners) Week of Jan 27 - Heather Mattoon (cardboard and yarn)

Necesidades de aprendizaje
I will be providing clear visuals and reference photos and take pauses for questions or help. If text is presented in a slideshow I will be reading it aloud so learners do not need to depend on reading it themselves.
Orientación para padres
Topics and history of each artist will be age appropriate for this class.
Supplies will be posted a week in advance, and sometimes scissors are a part of the project. Safety scissors are recommended or grown-ups are welcome to cut the material before class for their learner.
Please message me with any concerns or questions you may have about supplies.
