What do snakes, bats and sharks have in common? They are a few of the most misunderstood animals in the world. Many animals have unfairly been labeled as dangerous, pests, scary, dirty and so much more. The truth is that many of the animals we fear and have a reputation as being dangerous are anything but. Many animals that are seen as pests play an important role in nature and would be missed if they didn't exist. In this one-time class we will discuss some misunderstood animals, the myths surrounding them, why we fear them and the important role they play in the ecosystem. Do sharks deserve the label "man-eaters"? Why do seagulls try to steal our food? Why do so many people fear snakes and spiders? For answers to these questions and more about misunderstood animals come join me for class. Through fun and engaging discussion, a colorful presentation with pictures and video clips, learners will discover the truth about these amazing animals.
