Thanks for wanting to know more!   There is no experience required.  Students will receive guidance for building a productive piano learning portfolio.  In addition to learning how to read music, music theory and musical scales, students may also be encouraged to explore about chord progression, improvisation, and more!.  General goals will apply to beginner level students.  As the student progresses, goals will evolve around the student's learning styles and preferences.  For example, a student may decide to venture into different music genres, such as, classical or jazz.  Or perhaps the student is a Star Wars fan and wants explore playing theme songs. Another scenario might be that the student really enjoys improvising, and so, learning chord progressions and inversions is really the focus.  It could be any one of these or a combination. The list is endless, which is why each learner's musical journey will be unique.


The student will receive intentional guided piano instruction customized around his or her goals and learning styles.  As the relationship between student and teacher grows, the lessons will, not only, enhance the student's musical strengths, but also, challenge areas that need improvement.  This is done through encouragement and positive reinforcement.  In addition, there may be times when games and videos are used to help supplement the learning environment.  The intention, overall, is that learning is happening while having fun.  Ultimately, student's fulfillment is the main goal.  If the student is able to receive a positive human experience, often the student will want to share that experience in and around their family and community.
