2-4 horas por semana. Each week students decide on projects to build and will be assigned specially-crafted WOMPs (Work Outside of Minetest Project). There are more than 80 WOMPs in all. Students work on these projects on their own time. Before starting Metrocraft Daily, every parent decides whether WOMPs will be bonus work or required homework for their child.Experiencia de clase
𝕎𝕖'𝕣𝕖 𝕠𝕟 𝕒 𝕞𝕚𝕤𝕤𝕚𝕠𝕟! We have researched the biggest, most complex cities ever built in Minecraft and we think we can do better! Working in our "24/7 open world," each student will be assigned a different, multi-step building project each week, as we work together to set the new 🏆 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐃 🏆 for the largest-ever functioning Minecraft city built by kids! ʟᴇᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴇxᴄɪᴛᴇᴍᴇɴᴛ ʙᴇɢɪɴ! How Does it Work? RBC offers a new Minecraft class concept, where students have the flexibility to join on a week-by-week basis. In this subscription course, students can come and go, enrolling on a weekly basis for this ongoing class 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘯𝘰 𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵! Each week, students will meet with a teacher for a one-hour planning and logistics class on Zoom to choose their project assignments, ask and answer questions and get updates on the progress of the city. The majority of class, and the actual project-construction takes place between Zoom meetings in our "24/7 Open World." Metrocraft Daily teachers will be in our Open World consistently, during pre-scheduled one-hour "prime times" each day to help guide students and answer any questions (see schedule below). In addition, Metrocraft Daily teachers are frequently online in the Minetest world, simply to check-in with students and monitor progress. With so many projects to be completed in our attempt to break the world-record, it can mean hours and hours of fun each week for avid, young Minetest-ers! Students can choose to work on projects alone or in groups of 2 or 3, making this an ideal class to take with a friend! 𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘦, 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘕𝘖𝘛 𝘢 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦-𝘧𝘰𝘳-𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥. Get Ready to "ⓌⓄⓂⓅ" Each build also includes a short project called a "Work Outside of Minetest Project" (or "WOMP"). Encouraging creative thinking, a WOMP guides a student through a research process on a topic, asking specific questions and challenging the leaner to engage in the material outside of Minetest. Each WOMP should take about 20-45 minutes to complete, for which students earn points that they can use in our monthly Point Auctions. *Before starting Metrocraft Daily, families can decide whether WOMPs will be bonus work or required homework for their student. A few examples of builds/projects and associated WOMPs: *Create a NASA-type launch site (with a WOMP about the 1969 "Moonshot") *Create a highway and off-ramp connecting two of our cities (with a WOMP about America's first cross-country road) *Create the seaport for one of our cities in the world (with a WOMP about the history of NY Harbor during the Revolutionary War) *Create a seaport statue in the style of the Statue of Liberty (with a WOMP on the history of the Statue of Liberty) *Create a small neighborhood featuring "Eichler" style homes (with a WOMP about Eichler homes and 1950s architecture) *Create a high speed bullet train connecting two of our cities (with a WOMP about the creation of the first bullet train in Japan) *Create an underground money depository modeled after Fort Knox (with a WOMP about the history of Fort Knox in Tennessee) Weekly Schedule: * Each week, students have a one-hour planning and logistics class in Zoom to choose their project assignments, ask and answer questions and get updates on the progress of the city. Students enroll in planning meetings based on their sections scheduled Zoom class time. * Work is also done outside of class in our "24/7 Open World." Come join our record-breaking project! *Please note: unlike RBC's other Metrocraft Programs, this class takes place almost entirely outside of our one-hour weekly check-in classes, in our 24/7 Open World.
