Slam de poesía en la escuela secundaria: señales del verano

Clase
En este taller de escritores de seis semanas, los estudiantes se reunirán dos veces por semana para escribir, leer y compartir poesía o letras de canciones. Cada semana contará con un tema y un poema modelo. Este es un espacio seguro para poetas, compositores o fanáticos de la palabra hablada.

Lesson 12
Middle School Poetry Slam
Middle School Poetry Slam-Choose one poem to share during the Poetry Slam. You may choose a poem written by another poet (on the public domain) or share an original piece. Your poem should follow the theme, “Signs of Summer”.
  • Learners will write, revise, and edit original poetry that incorporates word choice, imagery, and literary devices.
  • Learners will analyze the themes of various poems.
I am a published poet and I believe in the power poetry and lyrics. I love to share my love of poetry with young poets and I feel it is important to provide a safe space for young poets to share.

Poetry has tremendous appeal for diverse learning needs, especially ASD. Poetry is sensory-rich, patterned language and many learners with unique needs are characterized by sensory-rich, patterned thought.
