Matemáticas de secundaria: 6.º grado Curso anual: en curso

This ongoing class provides in-depth instruction of 6th grade math topics to prepare students for 7th grade math. We utilize the I do, we do, you do. We will first go over concepts and then we will move on to solving problems. I will solve the problems first and then the teacher and the student will solve together, and lastly the student will solve the problem on there own. We will meet twice a week. This class moves at a steady pace. Every class we will play a game to see how the learner is progressing. 

Week of January 7- Exponents and order of operations
Week of January 14- Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers
Week of January 21- Adding and subtracting decimals and fractions
Week of January 28- Evaluating algebraic expressions, distributive property, and combining like terms
Week of February 4- Factoring expressions and solving equations
Week of February 11- Solving inequalities, area, and perimeter
Week of February 18- Area of circles and mean, median, and mode
Week of February 25- Stem and leaf plots and histograms
Week of March 4- Divide Whole Numbers- 2-digit divisors
Week of March 11- Prime Factorization and add and subtract decimals
Week of March 18- Multiply decimals and divide decimals
Week of March 25- Convert decimals to fractions and convert percentages to decimals

Class structure:
First 30 minutes- Introduce concepts for the day and class work
Last 10 minutes- Game on Gimkit

*I also offer one on one tutoring for students who are struggling on a topic.
*I wait 10 min for each class for students to show up. If not, I leave the meeting.
