Who is this class for? This 1 to 1 tutoring is for students who would like to become more confident mathematicians or who would like to be challenged to master maths topics. Students should be in years 2-9 (I have taught all these year groups in a school setting and tutored students in years 2, 9 and many years in-between). What will be covered? The subject/s covered can be directed by the student/ parents or I can assess the students and design classes for their needs. Possible focus topics: Lower Primary: place value, mental methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, written methods for addition and subtraction, fractions Upper Primary: arithmetic (mental and written), fractions, decimals, percentages, basic algebra, reasoning skills, preparation for SATs for 11 plus Secondary: number (fractions, decimals, percentages), algebra, graphs, geometry, statistics, probability How will the class be structured/ taught? This class will be taught using the UK National Curriculum in mind. The aim will to build the students confidence or stretch the student depending on need.

Hi Outschoolers! Welcome to my profile. I am a trained teacher who has taught both in the UK and at an international school. I have 8 years' experience teaching primary students (all subjects to grades/ years 1-6) as well as two years experience teaching math (or maths as we call it in the UK) at a Secondary level.
I love teaching as I love seeing students master key skills. I love challenging those who are more confident and seeing those who are less confident realize how capable they are.
My classes usually include some aspects of metacognition (learning about learning) embedded in them.
I have experience preparing students for both Primary and Secondary exams as well as Secondary school entrance exams.
