Nivel Beginner - Intermediate

I love to guide students in their learning but also have them help lead the class. I want them to feel empowerment and part of the learning process. My teaching style is well rounded with I do, we do, and you do. I want math to be a fun subject and not something to be dreaded. I have many tips and tricks I can pass on from my years of teaching math.  I will review Place Value concepts including rounding with and without decimals.  Math fact practice with tips and tricks. Including multiplication with and with decimals and regrouping.  Long division with and without decimals using larger dividends and divisors.  Concepts of geometry including lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, and angles.  Data and measurement. This will be coordinate planes, graphing, and measurement conversion.

I have experience with students that have ADHD or have a hard time focusing. I keep my classes clear and to the point. I understand there are different learning styles.

A general understanding of elementary math, I can help fill the gaps.

Hello friends! My name is Miss Simon and I am so excited to begin our new online teaching experience. I have been teaching for fifteen years. I have my bachelors in elementary education and a masters in educational technology. My experiences range from preschool up to fifth grade. I currently teach 4th and 5th grade math. I’ve loved every grade that I’ve taught but I feel like fourth holds a special place in my heart.  My favorite subject to teach is math. I find my class truly gets excited over learning math because of how excited I get to show them new fourth grade knowledge and all the different strategies. I have also taught first grade and second grade. I can be available to help and assist students in different grade levels.  I always say teaching is teamwork, not only with our friends in the classroom but also the families at home. I find it always best that everyone works together to make a child successful.  A few of my favorite things are Disney especially the Little Mermaid, Baby Yoda, and my cat Dean. Some of my hobbies include reading, knitting, and crocheting.  I would even be happy to teach students how to knit and crochet. I taught five of my students how to crochet when they were able to craft with the teacher. I look forward to assisting your child in anyway that I can. I truly love my profession.
