This class will teach your learner how to do multi-digit multiplication with a deep understanding of the steps involved. Lesson 1 we will be reviewing multiplying by groups of powers of ten Day 2 the focus will be on multiplying 2 and 3-digit numbers by 1 digit. We will use partial products as well as the traditional method for deeper understanding. Day 3 will focus on multiplying 2-digit by 2-digit numbers using the box method and transitioning to the traditional method. Day 4 will end by multiplying 3-digit numbers by 3-digit numbers. Students should have a small handheld whiteboard for class interaction. Students will use weekly handout to interact with content on the video. Whiteboards will be used for extra practice and for guided instruction. Each lesson will cover a different topic and work to be graded should be submitted by Friday via Outschool email system. Below are the topic that we will cover each week. Day 1: Multiplying numbers by groups of 10 ( 20 x 30, 300 x 50) Day 2: Multiplying 2-digit and 3-digit numbers by 1-digit ( 23 x 6, 123 x 5) Day 3: Multiplying 2-digit by 2-digit numbers ( 56 x 45) Day 4: Multiplying 3-digit by 3-digit numbers ( 231 x 453)

Welcome! My name is Debbie and I am a certified teacher with a Bachelors of Science in Education with a concentration in the visual arts. I also hold Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on math and science. I have been lucky enough throughout my career to have taught grades K through 6 and be a math and reading interventionist. Math is one of my favorite subjects to teach and I love thinking of creative ways to get students to love it too and gain confidence.
I primarily teach math classes most popular class is my 1:1 math tutoring class, but I have expanded my classes recently to include art classes as well as thematic science classes for first, second, third and fourth grades.
