2-4 horas por semana. Students will be writing most of the essays on their own. We will go over the structures in class and go over several examples. Students then will replicate the structure of their own and we will go over the homework in the next classes. Depending on how fast students can write the essay parts this will mean about 2 to 4 hours of homework a week.Calificación
I will give feedback on students writing for every essay that they send me during class and every part of the essay. This will not be a letter grade but it will be detailed steps of how to improve their essays.Experiencia de clase

SUMMARY OF THE CLASS In this 3-week, course students will meet 3 times a week to learn the perfect structure for 3 different types of essays. Essay writing is so important for students to master in middle school because essay writing is going to be a major part of their education from here on out. However, so many students struggle with essay writing, and as a parent not only do you not want to see your child struggle, but you also may not feel equipped to teach them yourself because you never learned the structure or English is not your first language. Some of the most popular and useful essays for students to learn a structure for are 📚narrative essays 🖌persuasive essays ❗️opinion essays. In this class, students will see examples of these types of essays, learn the structure, and be able to practice and get feedback on their essays. CLASS BREAKDOWN 🌟🌟NARRATIVE ESSAY🌟🌟 Day 1: What is a narrative essay? Introduction-Characters and Setting Day 2: Problem and solution Day 3: Theme and Lesson 🌟🌟PERSUASIVE ESSAY🌟🌟 Day 1: Examples of a persuasive essay. Introduction Day 2: Body Paragraphs Day 3: Rebutal and Conclusion 🌟🌟OPINION ESSAY🌟🌟 Day 1: Examples of opinion essays. Introduction Day 2: Body Paragraphs Day 3: Conclusion *****Class time will be used for learning how to write the essay and students will be expected to write the essay outside of class for homework. ****** ABOUT ME AND MY STYLE I have been teaching essay writing for over ten years and I love to expand students writing by asking them questions about their writing to get them to expand their ideas. I also believe that students need to have a structure to write from to really master the art of essay writing. I also have lots of experience with students with a number of different abilities and neurodiverse students. This lesson introduces the narrative essay. We talk about characters and settings and how to describe those with descriptive language.

This lesson talks about problems and solutions in our story. It goes over how to come up with solutions to problems and the different types of problems that can happen in a narrative.

In this lesson we will be talking about theme and what that means for narrative essays. We will be finishing up our essays today and talk about how to conclude a narrative essay.
