This class will support students seeking additional math instruction on grade-level-specific skills, or enrichment lessons. I will tutor students in grades 1-5 and work on skills they need more support with to achieve mastery or to advance their current skill level. I have a master’s degree in elementary education and differentiated instructional methods. I can model specific lessons and practice problems that students will work on with me to gain understanding. I will supplement instruction with an online math site allowing students to take a pretest and practice independently. **** Feel free to message me regarding specific times and academic support needs.

Hello, my name is Kathleen Bernath Jenkins and I am a recently retired elementary public school teacher in Missouri. I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in differentiated instructional methods. Most recently, I have taught fourth-grade students the core academic skills: reading, grammar, writing, math, science, and social studies.
I have a passion for teaching children the skills needed for them to be successful citizens. I believe all children can achieve success at school by differentiating instructional methods, which allows for individual growth and expression. My approach to teaching is to focus on best practices, those proven to be successful across all educational settings: teacher modeling and interaction with students, setting clear objectives at the start of each lesson, encouraging group participation, and debriefing together at the close of a lesson.
