In this exciting art class you will learn the best techniques for drawing and shading manga characters. We will focus on how to draw features of the face such as eyes and expressions, various angles of the head, basic poses, and how to incorporate drawing clothes you design. This is a live class so I can oversee progress and learners have the ability to ask questions about their progress as we move along through the steps. Each class will be led by demonstration by me, then learners will practice during class time the technique that is demonstrated. There will be light homework assigned such as searching for MANGA images on the internet they can replicate. They will be asked to print off a picture and draw that picture using the techniques we have acquired. This is not a tracing class and I will mention up front tracing is completely frowned upon. (just don't do it and I'll be a happy little teacher and you will be a happy learner!) This is a fun moderately paced class, at times you might not finish your drawing technique before class ends, in which case, I would expect you to complete it on your own before next class meets. (See there really isn't a ton of homework so I know you can do it!) At the end of this art course, you will have learned techniques to draw the character types you love!

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I have homeschooled for the past 18+ years (It's been so long I'm losing count). My husband and I have 5 children: 3 self sufficient adults now), 1 College and 1 in High School!
My teaching background has been primarily based on teaching my own children K-12. It is where I found a passion for learning! I have one child with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. I had to learn how to teach to each child differently based on their learning styles and needs through workshops, books and classes.
Outside of educating in the home, my background is quite diverse. My writing has been published for feature articles in magazines, business writing, and resume writing. I have a strong professional background in sales and marketing and staff recruiting.
I consider myself a lifetime learner and always will. My hobbies include history, true crime (yes, I try to solve each and every one, haha) crocheting, quilting, cooking, art (pen & ink and charcoal), photography, homemaking. What do I love to teach? Things I am good at of course!
I try to bring hands on learning to most everything I do. To me, it's more enjoyable and leaves a lasting impression on your mind!
When not home schooling and teaching on Outschool, you will likely find me hiking with our boys, or quite possibly at a football game, baseball game, basketball game...you get the picture, basically on a field of some sort!
