Experiencia de clase

Nivel de inglés: desconocido
Nivel Beginner - Advanced
In this 8-Day (or 8-Week) class, students go through the entire process of developing there own books. Students will create (write & draw), edit and publish their own stories, poems, or comic books of their own design.

The course focuses on both the creative writing and illustration aspects that professional creators use in making their own books. Any illustrations will be done on paper, then scanned and edited on computer. (If student has a computer tablet and wishes to use that instead, that is also fine... Just let me know prior to class.)

The students would receive a box of their own printed books after the class is over.

This class covers the fees for the student's printed/shipping of books.
✔️USA students would receive at least 60 books (for USA students). I can also the students more, if requested.
✔️ The students book would be 10 pages.
(Message me if the student wants more pages and we can figure something out.)
✔️ If the student wants to make a cover, the cover would be part of the 10 pages.
If they don't want to make the cover, then a generic cover (created by kids from other classes) would be included instead. If they do a 10-page story (instead of a 9-page story and cover), then they will get a 10-page story and a generic cover.
✔️The book will be printed in a "flip-book" format, allowing 2 books to share one cover.
On one side is the student's book. On the other side will be another book.
The total amount of pages for the book will be 20 pages. (10 for you, and 10 for the other book).

📢 PLEASE NOTE: Due to the high cost of shipping to foreign countries, learners in this class from outside the USA will get 18+ comic books instead of 60.
🚚 SEE BELOW for comic book printing schedules.
The comic magazine would feature comics made by everyone in these classes. They would be printed/published in a magazine called "Cartoon Avenue", which publishes comics and artwork created by thousands of kids at schools and community centers.

Orientación para padres
Please be sure all stories are school appropriate for young audiences. I cannot allow any content with nudity, violence, profanity, or adult content into the classroom. As the books will be published in actual bookstores and other places, I also cannot allow stories with characters copyrighted by someone else. No Mickey Mouse, Avengers, Superman, Batman, etc. (Unless it's a parody of those characters.) Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
Lista de útiles escolares
The materials required depends on what the learner would be doing. Would they be doing their artwork on paper? Or on the computer? 𝙄𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙨 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙤𝙣 𝙥𝙖𝙥𝙚𝙧... 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱: ✓ Paper 📃 ✓ Pencils and Erasers ✏️ ✓ Fine Point & ultra-fine point permanent markers or 🖊️Sharpies ✓ Computer, tablet, Chromebook, or laptop to edit their artwork on. 📢 Please install Zoom on the same device as the art software being used. That way the instructor will be able to see what the student is doing and be able to help the student, if he or she is having any difficulties. ✓ Scanner or Camera If you don't have a scanner, there are special apps for Smartphones and Tablets that can make your device act like a scanner. The one that I use and recommend is called 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿. Here is a video on YouTube about the program: https://youtu.be/qU0ODdGwWX8 ✓ Photoshop (or Photopea) is recommended for the editing, coloring, and layout. If Photoshop isn’t an option for you... A Photoshop alternative that I would recommend is called Photopea, which is a 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 online-based app, and can be found here: https://www.photopea.com If the student has a different program that they are already familiar with and wish to use for the class, feel free to check with me 𝙄𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙨 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙤𝙣 𝙖 𝙙𝙧𝙖𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜/𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙨 𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙩 (𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖𝙣 𝙞𝙋𝙖𝙙)... 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱: ✓ A device with a touch screen that the student can draw on. ✓ A stylus to draw on the device. If you are using an iPad, the stylus used for drawing is called the "Apple Pencil". There are also cheap apple pencil clones that you can get. But they don't have all the features (like pressure sensitivity) that the regular iPad Pencil has. Here is a link to one of the pencil clones: https://www.amazon.com/Generaion-Rejection-Compatible-Generation-Sketching/dp/B08ZCMGLV8 ✓ Art software to do the artwork on. If the student has a program they are already familiar with, they can use that program. If they don't have an art program to use, I would recommend 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗸 𝗦𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸, which has a lot of great drawing tools. Photoshop and Photopea would also work. ✓ 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 or 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮 for doing layout. 𝙊𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙨: ✓ Printer with Printer Paper
