1 hora por semana. Typically, I will give my students extra problems to practice between sessions to assess if the student is ready for the next content section. Homework may be IXL/Education.com worksheets I uploaded via classroom post, or assigned pages from workbook (I have several I can suggest for each grade such as Barron's Common Core or McGraw Hill Math), or assignments on Khan Academy.Evaluación

NOTE: This class is four (4) sessions that meet 1x week for 50 minutes each session. At the beginning, we will get acquainted with each other by practicing review math problems for current grade or taking an entire year assessment test to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, I encourage the parent to send me by email the math material/concepts the child is currently struggling to master. I will create a study plan that will include custom curriculum and handouts to help a student with the process of learning. My resources include: • Barron's Common Core Success • Barron's Core Focus • Evan-Moor Math • IXL Math • McGraw Hill Math • Spectrum Math Once the student has mastered all the key math strands / topics for their current grade, we will move on to challenging assignments to move the student to the next grade level. Each private tutoring session, we will practice math problems from one of the USA Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for a grade depending on what concept(s) the student needs help mastering. If a student is having difficulty with a concept, we may need to use more than one session before moving to the next concept. For students who have finished Grade 4 or are currently in Grade 4, here is a list of possible concepts: (1) Number and Base Ten, (2) Factors and Divisibility, (3) Multiplication, (4) Area and Perimeter, (5) Division Introduction, (6) Fractions Introduction, (7) Operations with Fractions, (8) Decimals Introduction, (9) Geometry Introduction, (10) Measurements. For students who have finished Grade 5 or are currently in Grade 5, here is a list of possible concepts: (1) Place Value, (2) Division Strategies, (3) Decimals: Add & Subtract, (4) Decimals: Multiply & Divide, (5) Fractions: Add & Subtract, (6) Fractions: Multiply, (7) Fractions: Divide Intro, (8) Graphing and Algebra Introduction, (9) Convert Measurements, (10) Geometry & Volume for 2D. For students who have finished Grade 6 or are currently in Grade 6, here is a list of possible concepts: (1) Ratio & Proportions, (2) Fractions: Divide Advance, (3) Number System Operations, (4) Rational Number, (5) Numerical Expressions, (6) Solving Equations, (7) Geometry for 3D, (8) Statistical Variability. My style is interactive so I will be presenting one strategy at a time then giving your child a chance to practice several math problems via Zoom's White Board with my guidance so I can see if they are mastering before going to next topic. Additionally, we can tackle homework assignments and/or prepare for a test during these one-on-one sessions. My goal is to find different (and fun) strategies that make sense to your child that will help them solve math problems on their own.

“Kahoot! is a global learning platform company. Kahoot! games can be played anywhere, in person or virtually, using any device with an internet connection.” A Kahoot! game is a quiz with multiple choice answers and the games include topics such as Year End Math Assessment. Kahoot! is a fun way to test a student's knowledge of a math topic such as adding fractions, multiplying decimals, solving for area of a rectangle.
Kahoot! app is free and does not require an account. The teacher provides the website link (http://www.kahoot.it) and a game pin then the student creates a silly screen name; thus, no account is needed, and no personal information is given to Kahoot!
“Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We focus on skill mastery to help learners establish strong foundations, so there's no limit to what they can learn next!”
Khan Academy is also a free app and for this class will not require an account. The teacher will share screen of quiz questions, so no account is needed, and no personal information is given to Khan Academy.
