Hi, my name is Sterling B. Freeman, a children's book author, illustrator, and visual artist living in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA. I'm now teaching basic cartooning to ages 4-8 using numbers, letters, and shapes. With the use of these characters that they also learn in school, kids attending my art sessions will gain extra practice and build on their drawing skills.

Since I was a young child, I've had a passion for creative arts, communication, the performing arts, and entrepreneurship. My parents set me up in my own business, "Xpressions Custom Art Apparel," in 8th grade. I worked in it through high school, making logos and creating custom art on clothing. After high school, I attended college at A&T State University for Graphic Design. I helped in the creative directing of music, media, and animation projects, which is how I discovered my desire to inspire others to reach their fullest potential -- especially the biggest dreamers of all, children.

Throughout the years, my goal has been to energize, enlighten, and empower others. Teaching kids on Outschool helps me continue to achieve that dream. All children can dream, but not every child has the exposure to keep them believing that they can fulfill them. Even if your child doesn't have the natural talent to draw, my class will show them how in ways they already understand. This class aims to keep their little imaginations alive and show them that anything is possible if they put their minds to it.

I do all of my creative work from my in-home space I call the "Dream Lab." I will also teach your little dreamer from this same lab. In this area, I founded the Little Light Series, a business aimed at inspiring young dreamers. I recently wrote and illustrated my first children's book, "Goodnight, Little Dreamer," published in 2020. It includes a companion coloring book.

After becoming an author, I've had the opportunity to speak and present live and virtual readings to children in the local schools. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I began offering online audio readings, and now publish a blog and newsletter to inspire kids: "Weekly Inspirations for Little Dreamers."
