During our darkest hours, many risked their lives to do what was right. Righteous Among the Nations is a title given to describe non-Jewish people who risked their lives to try to save Jews from extermination by the Nazis during WWII. We will learn about WWII and the Holocaust through the narrative of these heroic stories. As of January 2020, Israel has awarded the title to over 27,000 people! While some stories have become famous, every story deserves to be heard. Each week we will meet to learn about one of the many inspiring stories together. Each meeting will including the following: - Introductions - Geography overview for our story - Discussion of this week's Righteous Among the Nations - Update on those they saved - Wrap-up When possible we will hear recorded testimony not only from the Righteous Among the Nations but the survivors as well. Ongoing Class Schedule ~Week of~ January 10: Oskar Schindler January 17: Sousa Mendes January 24: Irena Sendler

Otros detalles
Orientación para padres
We will be discussing the Holocaust, which includes but is not limited to: death and concentration camps and the horrors found within.
These stories will also include information about the lengths some had to go to survive (hiding, defending themselves, etc)
Ample time will be given to discuss, reflect and ask questions.
While these stories are often quite inspirational, you cannot understand how much a Righteous Among the Nations risked, without fully understanding the consequences.
