This class will focus on what life was like for people in Europe during 1250 A.D. This time period was after the Dark Ages and during the midst of the Commercial Revolution. After this course, students will be able to identify Europe on a world map and discuss what geographical features were important for the people of Medieval cities. Students will learn about various aspects of Medieval life such as: -Basic family life and the duties of men, women, and children in the home -Explore interesting facts about the diet in the Middle Ages -How Medieval cities dealt with disasters such as floods, fires, and plagues -How the government and church worked together and the responsibilities of the ruling class -What people did for entertainment such as going to the theatre, reading books, and games played by adults and children -Discuss what schooling was like and the role of scholars in Medieval societies The course will have maps, video content, written work, trivia games, and of course fun! Learners can enroll in the course more than once as there are many different topics to discuss and I kind provide different content for continually enrolled students.

I have been teaching for over ten years to a wide variety of age groups. I also hold a TESOL certification so I can assist English as a Second Language Learners.
As a certified Special Education- Generalist, I have worked in Social Studies classrooms and have a personal interest in life during the Medieval times.
