Then, we will put it all together and learn how to connect our cursive handwriting. 🔹Weekly Live Meetings: We will meet once a week to learn together. 🔹Optional Homework: Students will be given optional homework each week. This homework will build on the class content and reinforce our learning. Each week will focus on three or four cursive letters. First, I will demonstrate the writing of our featured letter. Next, I will guide learners through the steps as we all write together. Then, each learner will work on creating their own cursive letters. 🟢Ms. Melissa, JD (founder)
Hello! Welcome to Wild Prairie Learning!
I am a lawyer turned online teacher with a deep passion for education. Prior to attending law school at the University of Saskatchewan, I studied education and linguistics in university at the University of Alberta. More recently, I completed my TEFOL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification.
I have been teaching English successfully online for the past 6 years and have taught thousands of private and group online classes. I love helping students learn new skills and accomplish their goals.
When I am not teaching, I am likely to be spending time with my family! I have four children ages 8-18, a husband, two cats, and a miniature poodle named Penny. We spend our summers camping, and we love to play board games together!
🟢Ms. Susan, BA, BEd
I am an experienced Special Education Teacher with a proven track record of successfully supporting neurodivergent students with language and social skills to reach their academic goals. I am skilled in designing individualized lesson plans and providing a safe and supportive learning environment. I am versed in social emotional learning strategies. I have incorporated Learning Circles, Community Circles and Restorative Circles as a continuum of Restorative Practices with various age groups. By incorporating these practices my classes created a respectful learning environment with students who are able to engage in meaningful discussion whether the discussion was around a novel study, classroom environment or a conflict which requires resolution.
I am passionate about teaching and planning lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles. I believe that by incorporating student interests and real life applications into academic lessons, all learners can access the curriculum and build upon their strengths to succeed.
I have 23 years experience in education K-12. I am Teacher certified in Newfoundland and Labrador and also with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT). I am educated in Special Education, Guidance, Language Arts and Social studies. I value Inclusion and I make it a point to differentiate lessons to appeal to a variety of unique learning styles.

I have worked onsite and online with students from preschool to adult learners for 25 years. As a lifelong learner myself, I want my students to embrace learning new things and to be active participants in their educational adventures.
When I'm not working, my family and our 3 rescue pups love spending time camping, being outdoors, and volunteering in our local community .
🟢Ms. Tracey B.S.Ed., ESOL, Reading Endorsed

I have my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and have been a certified teacher for 14 years. I am endorsed in Reading and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages). I have taught summer camp and preschool, as well as tutored struggling readers.
I believe that learning should be fun and I strive to create engaging experiences for my students.

🟢Ms. Jodi, B.A. Elem Ed
Hello! My name is Ms. Jodi and I am a passionate elementary educator excited to help your child succeed in an online setting. I have been teaching in an elementary classroom for over 10 years and am a certified teacher.
Through my experience, I have developed a wide array of skills used to tailor instruction to individual student needs and believe every learner is unique with strengths to build upon. Along with distinctive skills, I have been trained extensively in reading and writing areas, including the science of reading, phonics, and comprehension.
Learning is about connections...to our world and to each other. Exploration should take place at every corner and every lesson, while learners feel welcomed and nurtured to reach their potential and more importantly....enjoy the process.
Lastly, I always believe a little magic is involved in every moment of learning. It is the true job of a teacher to create the magical mix of tools a student needs in that moment to be successful.
🟢Miss Erika
🌟 Hello, Lovely People! 🌟
My name is Miss Erika, and I’m thrilled to meet you! I’ve been teaching for 17 amazing years and hold a bachelor’s degree in English Secondary Education and Linguistically Diverse Education, along with a master’s in Educational Leadership and a Principal’s License. But more importantly, I believe that education should be as unique as each learner. Learning isn’t one-size-fits-all—it should be fun, exciting, and full of discovery!
For the past 7 years, I’ve been homeschooling my children, which has been its own incredible adventure. We also have a lively household of furry, scaly, and shelled friends, including 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, a tortoise, a White's tree frog, and a bearded dragon! 🐾🐢🐸
Let’s make learning an unforgettable adventure together!
🟢Ms. Beth MEd
Hello! My name is Ms. Beth and I am so excited about helping your child learn and grow! I am passionate about reading and writing and believe every child can succeed and foster a love for learning through their own passions and interests.
I received my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from National Louis University in Chicago, Illinois, and have experience in various roles as an educator. I was a classroom teacher in upper elementary and middle school for five years, and I also served as a Title I facilitator/instructional coach. In this role, I had the opportunity to plan with and coach teachers from all grade levels and develop a well-rounded understanding of K-8 curriculum and interventions in core subjects. I currently assist part-time with online classes for a local university. I enjoy helping students and teachers become lifelong learners!
I also have two children of my own. We love to be outdoors and explore different areas of our city when we can!
🟢Dr. Stacy Brickell
Hello! I am Dr. Stacy Brickell. I have a Doctorate in Education and have experience teaching elementary, middle, and high school. I have also taught graduate courses at several universities. I believe education can be fun at any age and on any platform. In my classes, my foremost concerns are developing relationships and trust with my students while eliciting each student's full potential. I am also passionate about helping learners overcome "learned helplessness."
In addition to my doctoral degree, I am a certified reading teacher and a Master Teacher in Teaching English as a Second Language.
You'll find me riding one of my horses when I'm not teaching or preparing for classes! I ride and compete in Western Ranch and love it! My horses' names are Willis and Tip.
Hope to see you soon!
