In this ongoing course, students will meet once each week to learn effective ways to ask questions in Tagalog. Although not necessary, I highly recommend that students take my Tagalog introductory classes before taking this course. This course will not go over alphabet and numbers or greetings unless it is necessary and part of the outline. We will start from simple to complex questions as students grow in their knowledge of Tagalog sentence construction. Classes will cover different types of situations to practice asking and telling sentences. At every class, students will be given a handout to help them retain information and practice at home. Activities will be provided to encourage participation and support the students' knowledge of the subject matter. The slides and useful graphics I prepare for my classes will help students gain more understanding of the target vocabulary, the concepts, and overall picture of each lesson. We will go over each concept each month with lots of examples and new vocabulary each day. Week of July 30: Lesson 1 -->Are you/they/we...? Week of August 6: Lesson 2 -->Did he/she/it...? Week of August 13: Lesson 3 -->Have you...? Week of August 20: Lesson 4 -->Will you...? Week of August 27: Lesson 5 -->Do you/they/we? Week of September 3: Lesson 6 -->Does he/she? Week of September 10: Lesson 7 --->Can you...? Week of September 17: Lesson 8 ---> Do you know...? Week of September 24: Lesson 9 ---> Do you know how to...? Week of October 1: Lesson 10 -->What? Week of October 8: Lesson 11 -->What are you doing? Weeks of October 15: Lesson 12 -->Who? Lesson 13:Who are you? Lesson 14: Where? Lesson 15: Where did you go? Lesson 16: When? Lesson 17: How much? Lesson 18: How many? Lesson 19: Which? Lesson 20: Whose? Lesson 21: How? Lesson 22: Why? Lesson 23: Would you rather...? This course is designed for students who are ready to learn, speak, and understand more Tagalog. With the handouts/worksheets provided, the students will be able to exercise their creativity and thinking skills in order to formulate their own sentences in Tagalog. During the live class, the students will practice situational dialogues with me and the rest of the class. They will be encouraged to speak Tagalog using the provided target sentences. ‘Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.’ –Socrates I am excited to meet you and see you grow in your knowledge and love for this Filipino language.
