Invented one hundred years ago, jazz music is still popular today thanks to artists such as Michael Bublé. This class will teach learners how to play four famous songs on the recorder. Instruction will involve a demonstration of each song and a breakdown where we learn how to practice more challenging moments and learn new notes.* While learning the songs, we will also learn about song structure to help with memorization. *This class is intended for students who have previous experience on recorder. They should be able to accurately play the following notes: Low D - E - F sharp - G - A - B - C - high D. I am happy to meet with students who have previous experience who need help with these initial notes via a private lesson. Lessons are available by request. Students do not need experience reading music, but sheet music is provided for those who do. I have played jazz for fifteen years and look forward to working with your young musicians! Our weekly plan will be: Week 1: Bye Bye Black Bird Week 2: Fever Week 3: Satin Doll Week 4: Georgia

Hello parents,
I teach music classes for all ages, many of which can be taken without prior music experience. I also offer math tutoring and in the future hope to offer creative writing classes. Before coming to Outschool, I taught general music and band in public schools, as well as tutoring students in math and language arts.
I hold a master's degree in music composition, and a bachelor's degree in music theory and composition. For over twenty years I have written music for a variety of instruments and genres. I have also been a regular performer in classical, rock, blues, and jazz bands as a tubist, trombonist, and bass guitarist.
Former principals have described me as "awesome" and "a blessing" to my students, and I always strive to create a learning environment where they feel supported, safe, and happy.
Besides music, my hobbies include video games and writing fiction. I even wrote a fantasy novel ten years ago!Reseñas
